Athlete of the Month of May 2026
Years at Five Forks Athletics: 1

When did you start at Five Forks Athletics?
"I started in November 2025 with Hybrid classes. I began using a punch card, then moved to 3x a week, and eventually transitioned to an unlimited membership. (Pretty quickly!)"
What is your favorite workout?
"I love Metcon-style days—the mix of cardio and weights is my favorite."
What type of exercise were you doing before Five Forks Athletics?
"I had just finished an Ironman when I started at Five Forks."
What are your health and fitness goals, and how is that going so far?
"One of my goals is to compete in a HYROX this year, and the hybrid classes have been a great way to train for that. I also have another Ironman coming up in two weeks, so I really enjoy adding these classes to incorporate strength training and high-intensity cardio, which balances out the steady endurance work from Ironman training.
Another goal has been improving my pull-ups, and since starting, I’ve significantly increased the number of reps I can do."
Has Five Forks Athletics affected your life outside the gym?
"The community at Five Forks is incredibly kind and encouraging. Even after a tough workout, being surrounded by supportive people leaves you feeling energized, and that carries into the rest of my day. I also love feeling stronger—it’s a bonus that I can still keep up with (and beat!) my kids in the gym."
Do you have any special memories or achievements during your time here?
"Being able to do 5–10 strict pull-ups for multiple sets has been a really fun and rewarding achievement for me. I’ve also loved getting back into barbell work, and having coaches there to help refine my form has made a huge difference."
