Bio
What certifications or qualifications do you hold?
I started doing CrossFit in college, loved it, and decided to intern at my gym for coaching. I got my L1 and started coaching full time the week after graduating!
How long have you been coaching crossfit/hybrid?
This May I have been coaching for 8 years!
What's your coaching philosophy or approach?
I want everyone in my class to feel acknowledged, have a good time, and understand what's going on. Safe and effective movement is a priority!
Do you have a special focus (e.g mobility, strength, endurance, etcs) in your coaching?
Modifying movements to have a personalized effective workout. Whether we're modifying because of injury, skill limitations, or pregnancy, there's always a way to still get a great workout in.
What are your hobbies or interests outside of coaching?
Walking, hiking, drinking coffee, and anything that keeps me outside! I've recently become interested in helping new moms navigate fitness before/after pregnancy since becoming a mom myself!
Whats your favorite thing about working with the Five Forks Athletics community?
Working out with or coaching the noon class. We always cut up and have a lot of fun. I also love the wide range of ages we have at our gym. It inspires me to raise my family to work hard and stay healthy, and challenges me to stay in the gym so I can be fit as I age!
Whats the best piece of advice you'd give to someone new to Crossfit/Hybrid?
Consistency is key. Fitness comes easy to some but not to others. It might seem frustrating to have to keep working at double unders or that first pull up when someone else gets it right away. Put in the work, stay committed, and show up. You will see progress and reach your goals!
One interesting fact about yourself that most people don't know?
I hate vegetables and you will probably never catch me buying broccoli at the grocery store (but you may see me on the ice cream aisle). :)
